1830 Built by Hugh & Kenneth MacAskill 1880-87 Renovated 1898 Merger to form Dailuaine-Talisker Distilleries Ltd 1900 Distillery expanded 1925 DCL 1928 Ceased triple distillation in preference of double distillation 1960 Partially reconstructed after fire 1972 No longer operational, traditional maltings knocked down

Additional Information:

Only Single Malt distillery on Skye. Mentioned in a Robert Louis Stevenson poem written in 1880, 'The Scotsman's Return from Abroad' The king o' drinks, as I conceive it, Talisker, Islay or Glenlivit. Part of UDV classic malt range.
